All about Single Roll Cash Registers

A single roll cash register means that it only has a single (one) station printer.

When using a single station cash register, you can print customer receipts and also print end of day reports. You can turn the printer into journal mode which will wind up onto an internal spool but then you can't print receipts so you must decide either one or the other. When in receipt mode, you can still print the journal as it is held electronically within the machine but there is a limitation as to how much data is held. It will either fill up the journal or write over the top of the old data depending on how the setting are programmed.

The one station cash registers are the most common as many do not wish to print a hard copy journal nor do they wish to waste paper so it is also the most economical and environmentally friendly option.
